GTL und PnG starten nur noch im Vollbildmodus.

Spiele GTL seit 2005.
auf XP, Vista und bis vorgestern 7.
Fenstermodus hat immer funktioniert.

Jetzt hab ich doch auch meinen Spiele-Rechner auf Win10 umgestellt.
Erstaunlicherweise klappt der Fenstermodus nun nur noch bei GTR2 einwandfrei.
Bei PnG und GTL überschreibt sich der Eintag "WINDOWEDMODE=1" in der config.ini nach dem Programmstart von selbst wieder mit "WINDOWEDMODE=0".
Dabei ist es egal, ob ich die config.ini mit config.exe (als Administrator oder Karl Napf - völlig egal), oder manuell bearbeite.
Der Eintrag bleibt so lange bestehen, bis ich das Programm starte. Es startet immer im Vollbildmodus und die config.ini ist wieder zurückgesetzt.
Es sieht ganz so aus, als ob nicht die config.ini dem Programm bestimmte Parameter vorschreibt, sondern als ob sich das Programm die config.ini selbst zurechtbiegt.
(Hat die Rebellion der Maschinen schon begonnen?)

Meine Installation habe ich so wie immer gemacht.
Windows installiert (alle Updates).
Treiber für G25 installiert.
Python und wxPython installiert (für ABB-Updater).
Bierbuden-Ordner von ex-Win7 c:\ auf neu-Win10 c:\ kopiert.
(Er enthält aktuelle Instalationen für ABB, KBB und FBB (WBB, PBB und BBB nicht mehr))
Alle Autoupdater eingerichtet und die Installationen damit überprüft.
Verknüpfungen auf den Desktop gelegt.
Alles funktioniert - nur eben der Fenstermodus bei GTL und bei PnG nicht.

Hat dieses Phänomen schon mal jemand gehabt?
Hab' ich was übersehen?

Wäre prima, wenn jemand eine Lösung wüßte.

The same story. Windowed mode doesnt work in FBB PnG, but works in standart GTR2

Lösung:

1. Im Spiel-Ordner die Datei "config.ini" löschen (oder vorsichtshalber erstmal umbenennen).
2. Den PNG-Launcher starten (eine neue config.ini wird erstellt).
3. Fenstergröße wählen (32bit).
4. DX8 wählen (nicht Auto)!
5. Window-Modus aktivieren.
6. Fertig.

Um die einmal gespeicherten Einstellungen zu ändern, config.ini wieder löschen und von vorne beginnen, sonst startet das Spiel wieder im Vollbild-Modus. (aber warum sollte man immer wieder diese Einstellungen ändern?)
Bestimmt gibt es elegantere Lösungsansätze, aber dieser hier hat bei mir bisher immer funktioniert.

No, it only falls back into fullscreen-mode, if you change the existing settings again.
A windows-update could possibly also be a reason for troubles with the configuration.

But now you know, how to deal with it.

Hi everyone,

May I ask under what circumstances is it necessary to run the program in window mode?
I might be interested in the answer because I have two screens, the main one @2560x1080 for the simulators and a secondary @1920x1080 for other applications (Excel, browsers).
However, when I activate the windows on the secondary monitor with the mouse, the simulator window on the primary monitor minimizes.

Hi Lucas,
I am using the window mode for GTR2 and GTL on 2 screens since ages.

The main or first screen is 5760*1080 (3 x 32" in Nvidia Surround Mode), at least ONE screen in Windows setup.
The second screen is, like yours, for browser, teamspeak, sound mixer and additional things like GTRPD etc.

With the window mode, I can use the programs on the second screen WHILEST driving , i.e. change Teamspeak channel, change volume, flipping through the tabs in the browser, change pedal setup etc. without any effects or minimizing windows.

I discovered another beautiful thing

But allow me to clarify, point 1a) of Byrdland's list:
The game launcher (GTL or GTR2) must be set to "Win XP Service Pack 3 compatibility mode". That's the only way it worked for me.

There is only one small problem:
the game window overflows onto the secondary monitor, I can't fit it all onto the main monitor, this only happens if I completely unplug the secondary monitor, but when I plug it back in it overflows again.
